Dear Friendly Neighborhood Atheist,

Tuwing nasa engkwentro ako sa kama ay nasasambit ko ang Diyos o ang kanyang anak pag masyado ng masarap ang aksyon. Kaya tuloy kinakantyawan ako ng partner ko na di talaga ako atheist. Paano ko ba baguhin ang ganitong habit?

For me si Carl Sagan siguro, kakapanood ko ng Cosmos t.v. series niya dati. PAti kakapanood at pakinig ng halos lahat ng religious shows.... Tapus research lang ng research... that's it.

Anong gagawin ko sa distant relative ko na palaging nagpapadala sa akin ng Daily Verses? At kung minsan ay may mga chain prayer pa?

It shouldn't really matter. I myself normally say those expressions like Dyos ko! SusMarioSep!, etc. No need to prove to anybody you're an atheist.

Hard to beat old habits.

Hindi po ba kayo naniniwala at least, na may Diyos? Wag na natin sabihing maniniwala kayo sa Judaism, Christianism and Islam.

So kapag nasa tuktok kana ay nababanggit mo na ang "Oh My Gosh este God" at "Hesusmaryosep" ganoon ba?

Siguro nasasabi mo rin na para kang nasa heaven

there might be a being or beings that possess superhuman qualities (sci-fi natoh) but nothing short of being too powerful as to alter the laws of physics. if there ever is a greater power then it should still be within the confines of the natural and cosmic laws.

Nope. There is no god. There are no gods and there will never be. There is no hell. There is no heaven. There aren't any angels and devils. Satan is a figment. There are no ghosts. There are no demons. There is no salvation. There is no last judgment. Jesus ain't coming back. All of these are stories/characters we created. None of these are real.

Death is certain and after this there is no afterlife. We all wish this is true in the hopes of getting a reward and a second chance. A chance that something better is waiting after this life. No. There is no second chance.

yeah we can try to make some plea-bargain with this thing you call god but in the end we'd just be lying to ourselves. I go to church on some occasions and I feel nothing.. same feeling I'd have of god when i expire... NOTHING ^_^

Sa akin, personally, mas nakaka relate ako sa ideas ng Gnostics at Hermetics about 'God' as being The ALL. Pati na rin yung Pantheistic angle about God. But still more on metaphysical at cerebral pursuits lang ang mga ito for me. Kaya nga hirap akong sabihin directly na walang God, kasi nag eexist siya sa mind ng believers eh.

Sa akin labelling lang naman yan kung theist ka or atheist or vegetarian or rocker or hip-hopper... labels lang yan. As human beings we all go through the same processes in this life. Mainly sa minds lang naman nag-eexist ang complications. As for planning... why even plan? Ang alam ko lang pina-plan eh yung burial natin as a means to satisfy certain norms in our society.
