a concensus amongst religons? i dont think so...

a certain group will think that they're the only ones that'd be saved.. the other would think off the same.. it only takes 2religions to claim exclusivity to salvation to makes us realize that we're all gonna go to hell ^_^

id rather live in an atheist country.. somewhere like scandinavia ^_^

but imo, id rather go with the religions of old if i were to become a theist again.. id rather go with something like the norse myths or the greeks.. not with some shiat like what we have at present (no offense meant, what i've said was of mine own personal opinion).

that's why i dont believe in religion. i "may" welcome the possibility that a power greater than us may exist (given that such existence still falls under the laws of physics and the cosmos) but nothing short of supernatural. religions are man's excuse to make idiots of other people.

So how can we eliminate the disinformation campaign coming from both camps so that 'peace' can be realized?

I think that the question here is about possibility only. Theoretically yes because I am pretty sure in Islam that we are commanded to love and respect our fellow human beings regardless of their religious denomination. As a matter of fact, even animals in Islam have rights, let alone a human being be he a theist or an atheist - Islam is derived from th root word salama and/or silm which means peace.

As for Christianity, we are told that they must love even their enemies; if they are slapped in the right face, they'll offer the left.

Therefore, if the followers of these two religions will follow their respective religions as they are, then peace between them is definitely possible.

So what basically makes them not follow what their religion teaches? Does it have something to do with human nature, or some other factors perhaps?

As i said, the main reason is ignorance and next to it is self-interest ( money making in religion) that is why they keep on bombarding each other and each year several sects are newly registered having the same bible, the same trinitarian doctrine, but different leaders and ways of singing and dancing in order to recruit new members (10%) for the poor and needy god (actually the pastor/minister).

Islam is most hated and is the main target of black propaganda because it has a similar moral teachings at the same time questioning the illogical and confusing doctrines of christianity so many christians left christianity, some became muslims some became atheists, thus decreases the pastors' (church) income. This is why they have to do all means of black propaganda, invent lies against Islam, while the muslims are very outrageous on them = conflicts after conflicts

So with the way things are going, can we see peace at the end of the tunnel? Or is this merely all a pipe dream?

It depends. If the causes of the trouble is eliminated or at least reduced to a minimum level then it is possible, but if they are still existent then expect for a dark cloud so to speak.

Anyway, Islam has already informed us that Muslim, Jews, and Christians and i think even atheists will be unified when Jesus Christ pbuh comes back because he is the one who will settle the matter and every differences will be cleared up and so peace would prevail.
