Re: Questions & Answers About Catholicism
Esther wrote:
Until the secrets begin, Medjugorje will remain largely unapproved.
Once they begin, it will become clear to all that Medjugorje is true. The false private revelations don't know the future. But the true ones do. So when the visionaries announce the secrets in advance, and then they occur, this will indicate clearly to the leaders of the Church that Medjugorje is true.
After that, approval will be a mere formality.
Sorry, isang follow-up question kung pwede?
Is it allowed for Catholics to believe in unapproved "revelations"?

Private revelations are not required belief they are like additional help to the faithful.
The Holy See has not taken an official position on Medjugorje, neither for, nor against. Since most Bishops in the world permit their priests and laity to make pilgrimages to Medjugorje, it is unlikely that the Holy See, contrary to the prudential decision of most Bishops, will definitively condemn the apparitions at this time. Nor is it likely that the Holy See will definitively approve of the apparitions while they are still on-going (at least not prior to the Warning and Miracle).
And any future action, if any, by the Holy See on this subject is likely to be very limited, neither forbidding pilgrimages, nor fully approving them. After the Miracle, it will be clear to all that Medjugorje is true, and so official approval will be guaranteed but largely unnecessary.

I don't know, only the admin has the authority to add the sub forum on the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Question about Mariology are also welcomed here.

Re: Questions & Answers About Catholicism
My personal view:
1. Nobody should above the law
2. Priests should not be exempted from the law.
3. 'Scandals' is not the proper word. Criminal act is the more vivid description in legal terms. If you inquire on any student of the law, this is termed as "acts of lasciviousness". Pedophilia, rape, etc.. all are accounted.
4. Those who are guilty should be prosecuted. They of course whould be given right to counsel and representation. But if found guilty beyond reasonable doubt and supported by evidence and witness, justice should be served.
5. They should be removed from any religious duties. Religious and at the same time a pervert is a mockery of Christianity.
6. The roman catholic church should not protect or hide them. Or 'shuffle' them to other assignments overseas.
7. All collaborators should be prosecuted, including those in high offices. Hypocrites all of them.

Re: Questions & Answers About Catholicism
Question: Paano ba napatunayan na virgin talaga si Birheng Maria? Was it through medical tests or theological analysis lamang?
Bakit kailangang birhen talaga siya? Anong masama kung nag-sex sila ni Jose? Bababa ba ang kanyang antas kung may anak siyang iba sa kanyang lehitimong asawa?

thank you for sharing your opinion here. You can open a separate thread among your list in which you think the church is mistaken.

St. Jerome (late fourth/early fifth century)
"The virgin Christ and the virgin Mary have dedicated in themselves the first fruits of virginity for both sexes. The apostles have either been virgins or, though married, have lived celibate lives. Those persons who are chosen to be bishops, priests, and deacons are either virgins or widowers; or at least, when once they have received the priesthood, are vowed to perpetual chastity."
(Letters, 48:21)

Ideally that's how things should be. And if they fail to keep to their vows, they were never meant to be.

A priest who has a board in his eye, in the form of any attachment to any objective mortal sin, or any strong inherent habit toward objective mortal sin, cannot assist the faithful in removing sin from their own lives.
But let us not forget all the good that is done by the vast majority of priests

Di ko pa rin ma-gets kung bakit importante ang manatiling virgin. Mas masama ba kung nagsex si Maria at Jose?
Pwedeng follow=up question? Bakit nga ba ginawa tayo ni God na sexual beings with strong sexual drives? Pwede namang ginawa tayong walang sexual organs tapos we just procreate by flowering and producing seeds. Mas colorful at walang hassles like condoms at STD.

" after the fall from grace " all the descendents of Adam and Eve have been born in a state of original sin.
There are three parts to Original Sin.
1) the actual sin of Adam and Eve.
What is original sin for us, was personal sin for them, but it is not personal
sin for us. We do not inherit the personal culpability for the sin of Adam and Eve.
2) the loss of sactifying grace
Adam and Eve were created with sanctifying grace, then they lost it. All their descendants are created (at conception, when both body and soul are created together) without the sanctifying grace, needed for salvation. We must seek that grace in our lives, obtain it ordinarily through the Sacrament of Baptism, and retain it until death in order to be saved.
We 'inherit' this lack of sactifying grace, but since it is a lack of something, it is not so much like a family heirloom handed down, and more like a family heirloom that was lost and so is lacking to each subsequent generation.
3) Third, original sin is an imperfection within the human person, resulting from both the personal sin of Adam and Eve, and from the loss of sanctifying grace. This imperfection or disorder is experienced by each individual as a tendency or incentive towards sin, which is termed “concupiscence.” In this disorder, the soul is not consistently and unerringly directed solely towards God. Thus, the soul is imperfect in seeking God and in knowing and doing God's will. In this same disorder, the body also is not consistently and unerringly under the direction of the soul and of God. Thus, the body rebels against the soul and against God, according to the expression: “the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Mt 26:41)-and sometimes the spirit is weak as well. As a result, the body is imperfect and is subject to injury, disease, aging, and death. (The process whereby human beings deteriorate in body and mind due to advancing age is a result of original sin.) Adam and Eve lived long lives, and then each died, just as all the descendants of Adam and Eve are now subject to death as a result of original sin. Another consequence is that the will is weakened and the intellect is obscured, so that people think that they have found truth when they have not.

Bro I have two questions for you: (1) Is the Father of Jesus dead or alive? (2) If alive, is it permitted for women in Jewish culture to have another husband or by your own words "kung nag-sex sila ni Jose" when the father of her child is still alive?

From the beginning until today, the Church have always taught the virginity of Mary. This is all about Jesus and you will never understand this unless you believe that Jesus is God. Mary's womb was a vessel for God alone. Jesus shared her mother with us all in Calvary but her womb was a tabernacle for Him alone.

that's true!
thanks ramcam2, they seem to like our answers. or somebody closed their mouths?
like Daniel in Lions den?
that turn us into silence.
...but there are times when silence has the loudest voice.

If God is love, who loves and tolerates all
people of all faiths, then why on earth is there eternal punishment
promised, with no possibility of reprieve or let up, especially for
those who take the Mark of the Beast?

If the Mark of the Beast is administered via the
right hand and forehead, described in the Revelation, why on earth does
the Roman Catholic Church use this same method for signing the sign of
the cross in all its rituals and blessings?

Re: Questions & Answers About Catholicism
If, in the Roman Catholic Latin Bible, the
'mark' - as in 'Mark' of the Beast - is translated characterem, why on
earth did she use the identical Latin word - characterem - when
describing the indelible 'mark' given in her sacraments of baptism,
confirmation and holy orders?
