NAIA-1, World's Worst Airport
http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/inquirerheadlines/nation/view/20110413-330855/NAIA-1-rated-among-worlds-10-worst-airports
For global pinoys this is a fact we already know very well. NAIA-1 ranks among the world's worst airports. It ranked 1st in Asia and 5th in the world. Two Indian airports -- New Delhi and Bombay -- ranked well too. I've been to Bombay a few months ago and I think Bombay gives NAIA a close competition, although I would have voted for Bombay.
To add insult to injury, the world's best airports are just in the neighboring countries/cities -- Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul. It's like you leave Manila and happy to have survived the hassles of NAIA and then arrive in Seoul for your connecting flight and get shocked because it looks like an entirely different world when compared to NAIA.
I always wonder what made the Philippines so kulelat. Is it Christianity? Marcos? the Spanish colonial influence? bad luck? I don't know.
