What is the purpose of this site?

Is this site meant as a parody of the real BARM site? Or is this site intended for serious discussion?

If I may guess, it was started as a parody. Obviously, the creator of the site simply copy-pasted most the texts from the old BARM. The site laid dormant for more than six months. Surprisingly, it became active now.

A site is not really controlled by its owners. The quality of a site is dependent on its members, who are actually valuable and are real stakeholdrers of the site. The members should be valued and respected, something that the old BARM has sadly forgotten when they were already at the height of their popularity. I still remember JI saying that we are all free to leave anytime if we are not happy about their site. Well, as the saying goes, be careful what you wish for as it could sometime comes true.

But, frankly, I don't think the old BARM will really die. Once they have solved the serious bug problem, they can spring back to life. They already have hundreds of thousands of posts as compared to the new one with less than a thousand. But the old BARM will not be the same and its mods will not be as boastful as before. I guarantee you that.

If this site wants to be treated seriously, I think it should first stop using the original BARM logo. I think it's copyrighted.

Binago na ng ADMIN ang logo ng sites niya, ang nakalagay na ay "THE NEW PUBLIC SQUARE".

Siguro nakikinig siya sa mga hinaing at suggestion ng kanyang miyembro, ito ay pagpapakita na binibigyan niya ng importansiya ang ating mga sinasabi dito sa "THE NEW BARM".


More power sa sites na ito!

Seems to be the case. The last post was 7/22/2010.

Nobody's posted in the last two days. There's usually at least 3 new posts there whenever I visit it.

Nakakalungkot man isipin na iyong ang naging tahanan ko sa pagtanggol sa aking relihiyon sa loob ng apat na taon, pero wala tayong magagawa kung hindi na bumalik sa dati, nagkasunod-sunod na kasi ang error ng nasabing sites kung saan nandoon na iyong nag-excess ng bandwidth, nasuspendido at ito nga error kung saan hindi natin alam ang dahilan.

Anyhow, nandito naman ang sites na ito at panatilihin natin maging mahinahon at makabuluhan ang talakayan dito at suportahan natin ang ADMIN sa hangarin niyang maisa-ayos ang nasabing religion forum.

About sa reputation ay sino ba ang nagbibigay niyan ang ibang users ba, hindi ko hangad na magkaroon ng maraming reputation kung ibabasi lang sa pamamalagi ko dito, kung sinuman ang nagbigay nito ay nagpapasalamat ako at sana ang pagbibigay niya nito ay sa kadahilanan may naidulot na mabuti para sa lahat, medyo may warning din naman si ADMIN sa sinumang mang-aabuso nito.

Ang sabi niya doon sa ikaapat at ikalima.

Sa ngayon ay hindi ko pa alam kung ang pagbibigay ng reputation ay basi sa performance o basi sa post niya at ilang beses kaya tayo puwedeng magbigay nito sa isang forumers.

Puwede po bang pakidagdag lang po ang impormasyon tungkol dito, alam ko na nababasa po ninyo ang aming mga post kaya sana maipaliwanag ninyo sa amin mabuti.
