Hmm... but maybe all these religion biz (and i'm talking about the elaborately organized ones) are just fronts for something else entirely? Like, perhaps to have easy access to the 'conquered' land's resources and stuff?

Just thinking out loud here. Smile

Namaste!

Thank you for thinking out loud my friend.

I think Man started religion and used it to be maintain cohesiveness of the group. If resources are scarce, there is really a tendency to subjugated other territories. And man used religion as a powerful tool to control its people and try and carry on with its goal of acquiring resources. The zionist for one, used religion to claim rights on the palestine land. That part of the world has never been the same!

And so as i pointed out, religion must focus on something else. Not center on a supreme deity who needs to be worshipped. god worship is primitive. Who wants to go back in time anyways?

Believe it or not, the Aesop Fables were actually part of the sacred literature associated with pagan Greek religion. Now, the fables are just bed-side reading. In the future, the Bible and the Quran will just become a bedside story.

Nobody now believes that Athena is a goddess. But in those days, she is serious business.

It's really ironic that the Holy Land is also probably the world's most stressful place to live in. Smile Talk about misnomers.

But again, kudos to the other less intrusive belief systems like Buddhism and Jainism... these religions seem to be on the 'right-track' imho, as compared to the three most popular ones in terms of controversies and continuous reporting by CNN and BBC.

Also, I am looking forward to Harballah answering my question on Wahhabism. Perhaps, para hindi "hahaba ang talakayan", I will simplify the question:

Is Wahhabism good for Islam?

Good question, Vril. Perhaps, Harballah would answer that too. Actually Wahhabism is not Shi'ite, so the question is really if Wahhabism is truly Sunni.

And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss. ( سورة النور , An-Noor, Chapter #24, Verse #31)

Thanks and peace!'

Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: And Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said: Ten are the acts according to fitrah (nature): clipping the moustache, letting the beard grow, using the tooth-stick, cutting the nails, washing the finger joints, plucking the hair under the arm-pits, shaving the pubes, and cleansing one's private parts (after easing or urinating) with water. The narrator said: I have forgotten the tenth, but it may have been rinsing the mouth. (Book #1, Hadith #0052)

Maraming salamat po sa inyong katanungan.

May sapatos kami dito kaya lang mahirap ma-afford kasi umaabot ng more than 4 thousand ang presyo kasi signature items at ang pinakamura na siguro dito ay mga 150 before discount pa.

Welcome back, Jewel. I hope the Clarks shoes fit well and look great.

You have to catch up, there are a couple of questions that you may want to answer.

Here is another one for either you or Harballah. This refers to section 3, para 1 of this linked site on sexual practices in Islamic Egypt. http://www2.hu-berlin.de/sexology/IES/egypt.html

"There is an Islamic law that says that if on the wedding night, the woman discovers that her husband’s penis is smaller than the thickness of three fingers, she may divorce him on the grounds of impotence."

While you guys are recovering from the shock, I hope you don't mind my asking if this Islamic law is real. I got it from an academic site.

p.s., Jewel, I will assume, of course, that your, er, er, family jewel meets the Islamic size requirement. Smile
