How about thighing? Is this part of Islamic way of life?

And on the site Ateo gave: “the prayer of a married man is equal to seventy prayers of a single man.”

Ateo wrote:Welcome back, Jewel. I hope the Clarks shoes fit well and look great.

You have to catch up, there are a couple of questions that you may want to answer.

Here is another one for either you or Harballah. This refers to section 3, para 1 of this linked site on sexual practices in Islamic Egypt. http://www2.hu-berlin.de/sexology/IES/egypt.html

"There is an Islamic law that says that if on the wedding night, the woman discovers that her husband’s penis is smaller than the thickness of three fingers, she may divorce him on the grounds of impotence."

While you guys are recovering from the shock, I hope you don't mind my asking if this Islamic law is real. I got it from an academic site.

p.s., Jewel, I will assume, of course, that your, er, er, family jewel meets the Islamic size requirement. Smile

But let me assure you that it is a serious, academic study, as Vril can attest.

You don't expect me to ask you about the five pillars, the haj, the eid, etc. I am actually knowledgeable about the basic Islam, so di ko na kailangang itanong yan.

Hi Jewel,

I'm not trying any strawman attack..lol. You seem to sound so defensive. Let me try and quote you on what you posted. Please remeber, I'm trying to understand the origins of Qu'ran, so please don't think I'm in anyway trying to confuse anybody.

Anyway, here is what I'm trying to ask.

you said: The Quran was written by Prophet Muhammad's scribes as soon as he receives any revelation.
You also said:
Caliph Uthman then saw the suggestion to be correct, he then COPIED the codified text during Abubakr's time which was then under the custody of Hafsa r.a. the prophet's wife, reproduced it and ordered that all personal copies written by the scribes who had gone to far places like Iraq shall be burned so that new Muslims will not get confused with the different way of recitations.

So it was your post that confuses me. Also, please clarify why were there different ways of reciting the Qu'ran and when you say ways of reciting, does this mean a different version?

TIA

You quoted my response to your post; that means that had there been a confusion, it could have been from your post . What makes your post could confuse the readers is that you seem to imply that what you have posted is from an authentic islamic source which is surely not.

Anyway, here is the explanation:

The Quran was originally revealed to Prophet Muhammad pbuh in his own Qurayshi accent. He was worried that some of the tribes may not be able to understand it fully or that they may suspect him of something else (exclusiveness) - so he told Gabriel about it and so Angel Gabriel recited it in 7 different ahruf (accent/dialect)

From AbĂ» Hurairah:

<blockquote>
The Messenger of God(P) said: "The Qur'an was sent down in seven ahruf. Disputation
concerning the Qur'an is unbelief" - he said this three times - "and you
should put into practice what you know of it, and leave what you do not know of it
to someone who does."

</blockquote>

From AbĂ» Hurairah:

<blockquote>
The Messenger of God(P) said: "An All-knowing, Wise, Forgiving, Merciful sent down
the Qur'an in seven ahruf."

</blockquote>

From cAbdullâh Ibn Mascud:

<blockquote>
The Messenger of God(P) said: "The Qur'an was sent down in seven ahruf. Each of
these ahruf has an outward aspect (zahr) and an inward aspect (batn);
each of the ahruf has a border, and each border has a lookout."

Those are all well known ahadith.

So when there was a confusion about the different ahruf especially for the new muslims, based on the suggestion and agreement of the disciples, caliph Utman agreed to have only one standardized way of recitation and text in order to solve/prevent further problem/s.
So there was no versions of the Quran - the ahruf were not versions but ways/modes of recitation. What is left now is one and that is the Qurayshi recitation which is the original dialect of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh.

Thanks

So the destruction of other ways of recitation was destroyed is true. And this was never ordered by Allah and or Mohammed or Gabriel. It was Uthman's decision. The fact that there were 7 different ways to recite the verses could cause confusion means verses could be interpreted in different ways? Why would Gabriel reveal 7 different ways to recite if Allah knows this will lead to confusion?

At present, does Sunni and SHi'ites recite the same way?

The other 6 ahruf was intended for the 6 other tribes in Makkah that time. When they were convinced that Prophet Muhammad could never invent such magnificent recitation, they believed in him. If you could read arabic, I could teach you a little about it. Those who still memorize it, it is okay for them to recite those modes; there are many qiraat of the Quran by the way and I have an audio copies of some of them here with me.

The bottom line is that, since the 6 different tribes and their accent vanished due to intermarriages or whatever, the other 6 other ahruf is of no great importance today. What is important is that the original accent (Qurayshi) is still intact and complete so the complete guidance intended for mankind is still available - No one is excused for not knowing the correct guidance if he/she has the means to learn it.

Yes, the mainstream Muslim which you call sunni and the heretic shi'ah cults has the same Quran today.

Harballah

I did not mispelled the word so I'm not sure what part of the question was not clear. I read the word in several sites, yahoo, youtube, islam-watch.org, answering-Islam, islam-review.com, among other forums.

So please clarify if this is a valid claim and if it's being practiced by present-day Muslims.

vril wrote:Why was there 2 major Islam denominations? Why did Shi'ah's believed differently from Sunnis?

They are not considered as "major denomination" in islam friend vril - shi'ism is but a cult. They only compose of of about 10-12% of the total Muslim population. Moreover, this 10-12% is subdivided into hundreds of sub-cults. You might have heard of Ismaeliyah, Jahmiya, 7ners, 12vers, alawiyah, ect - these are all shi'ah subcults.

Shi'ism is rejected totally in Islam because they are idolaters. The Alawiyah for example believes that God became a man and manifested in the person of Ali bin Abi Talib - Sounds a copycat to trinitarianism. Nonsense, because had this been true then it must have been written in the Quran.

Some of them hate Angel Gabriel because they believe that Angel Gabriel is a bad angel because God told him to give the revelation to Ali, yet he disobeyed and gave it to Muhammad instead - Nonsense, because it implies that God's plan became a big mess.

Some of them believes in Prophet Muhammad's Prophethood but they attributed to their imams the attributes of God - idolatry; They believe that their imams knows every atom of the creation and that they know where and when they will die - That's nonsense - Only God knows everything. Even the prophets did not know everything, so how can they attribute such divine attributes to their imam?

Moreover, they believe that only their imams can understand the quran, so whatever they do, dont question it because they know what you dont know - nonsense - blind following to imams - and it would mean that God made his message confusing to people, thus God should be blamed for people's mistakes because he did not make his message clear.

The shi'ah cult was founded by a Jew named Abdullah bin Saba' aka Ibn Aswad - He was the one who undermined Islam when they were not able to stop Islam from spreading - He pretended to have converted to Islam. His first lecture was this:

Ibn Aswad:
Oh you Muslims, do you believe that Jesus pbuh did not die?

Crowd: Yes we do (it is clearly written in the Quran)

Ibn Aswad: Who is greater, Jesus or Muhammad?

Crowd:
Muhammad!

Ibn Aswad
: If that is so, then Muhammad did not die and he will come back like Jesus

That's nonsense because Prophet Muhammad was buried in Madinah and his grave is still there and all his disciples were witnesses to it.

Thanks.

Sorry my friend, pablo is not recognized in Islam.

What are you gonna do if your mother or sister is being raped, kiss and love the rapist? That's nonsense.

Islam is a practical way of life, not a mere emotional doctrine just to please the people and have them converted in order to earn money from the "10%".

Thanks.

Thanks

I wait you friend.

Thanks.

Thanks Jewel.
